  1. Blacklist IP addresses based on AbuseIPDB

    Instead of blocking a whole country I personally would like to see just blocking several IPs based on an already filled blacklist form AbuseIPDB.
    They even have an ip which you could use to generate a server.malicious_ips nginx file on every server.

    Thanks!

  2. Upgrade ImageMagick to more recent version.

    Current version is 6.8.9-9 released in 2014, so quite outdated. A more current version like 6.9.10 or 6.9.11 would be more suitable and also fix a lot of small bugs.

  3. MailHog inbox available via a URL.

    Make MailHog inbox available via a URL or something simple so the customer don't have to have acces in SSH or have to log in SSH. Because most of the time the customer don't have any experience with SSH.

    For example: MailHog inbox available via 'mailhog.client.hypernode.io' or ‘client.hypernode.io/mailhog’

  4. ElasticSearch version >=6.8.3

    Allow to select a specific version instead of just 6.x.
    Some Magento2 modules break due to the ES version, which is 6.6.1 by default now.

  6. Add more history to MageReport charts

    At the moment, the MageReport charts only go back 7 days. When troubleshooting problems, it's often required to go back further in time.
    Disk space, CPU usage, PHP requests, ...

  7. Goaccess

    GoAccess was designed to be a fast, terminal-based log analyzer. Its core idea is to quickly analyze and view web server statistics in real time without needing to use your browser (great if you want to do a quick analysis of your access log via SSH, or if you simply love working in the terminal).

    Goaccess would do miracles and help our developers save time on analysing access.logs We really would like to have this complied to hypernodes.

  9. ffmpeg

    To convert GIF files to WebM and MP4, we'd like to see ffmpeg and ffprobe installed. Currently, we have to ship prepackaged ffmpeg binaries with our packages.

  10. Add a bit more control over Redis instances

    I think it's great we can setup a second Redis instance to separate sessions and backend cache (via hypernode-systemctl settings redispersistentinstance --value True ) . We feel it would be helpful if we could get a bit more control over the memory usage by Redis, the default 50/50 split of the existing amount of RAM is not always optimal.

    We're thinking of :
    1) an option to define the split (choosing between 50/50; 60/40 and 80/20 for example, within the fixed Redis RAM limit as set per Hypernode package)
    2) and/or choosing whether Redis RAM gets split (1024…

  11. New Relic Infrastructure

    New Relic Infrastructure is essential to monitor the current state and performance trends of our hosts. New Relic APM is great, but the infrastructure part of their product is what really gives us a 360 view of our webshops.
    By using New Relic APM and Infrastructure together, you get a comprehensive view of the health of your servers and hosts as well as the applications and services they depend on—creating shared context for development and ops teams.
    Debugging and performance optimizing is even easier and more transparent when using New Relic Infrastructure.

  12. More focus on software upgrades

    Seeing PHP 7.2 roll out was great, some other things feel very inactive though:

    • Redis
      current version (3.0.6) was released end of 2015. Current versions is 5 and 4.x recently received important fixes via backports where 3 is not. Changelogs are pages long with bugfixes and missing out on new features.

    • MySql
      current version is 8.x with (good) structural changes and new features.
      Percona also seems dated with hardly any talk about it besides their own blog (with benchmarking setups that raises questions).

    Magerun2
    What is the actual recommended way of upgrading this? As the app user lacks root/write access…

  13. Add Prometheus with some exporters

    It would be great to have Prometheus running on each Hypernode with the most popular exporters;
    - nodeexporter
    - blackbox
    exporter
    - mysqldexporter
    - rabbitmq
    exporter
    - nginx-vts-exporter

    Het mogelijk maken om meerdere technische beheerders te hebben in de byte backend. Nu kan dat er maar 1 zijn tegelijk.

  16. bin/magento autocomplete

    There is an autocomplete package available for the bin/magento command:
    https://github.com/yvoronoy/magento2-bash-completion

    I think it would be awesome if the Hypernode platform includes this by default.

  18. Nginx log - remove SSL_shutdown() failed ... from the /var/log/ngninx/error.log

  19. Loggly / Logstash

    Implement either Loggly (and perhaps with a sweet deal on the price) or have a ready to go Logstash installation to replace New Relic under HHVM. Having a comprehensive overview of Server, Apache, MySQL, Email and Magento logs together helps a lot with debugging
