Blackfire.io for profiling
I'm a big fan of blackfire. It's free and works great for profiling, specially in teams. It has, as far as I know very little technical impact and can run next to New Relic
14 votesBlackfire.io is available! Please contact our support team if you want to test/use it, they will activate it. Could you let us know what you think?

custom DocumentRoot
I'd like to have a Document Root that points to /live/version/1.1./src/htdocs/(public) and be able to change it on my own.

Antivirus and Malware scans
Have scheduled Antivirus and Malware scans for Hypernode. This is necessary to comply with PCI SAQ-A EP 3.1 requirements (which means almost all Magento ecommerce sites).

Request SSL directly for a Hypernode instance
At this moment, it's not possible to request an SSL certificate for a Hypernode instance and you always need an additional Presence plan for the domain to request the certificate (like stated here: https://www.byte.nl/kennisbank/item/ssl_certificaat/#SSL_op_je_Magento_Start,_Grow_of_Go_Big_pakket).
To make administration simple and keep the invoice simple and understandable (an additional EUR 1,66/month on the invoice looks a little like 'mierenneuken' to the client - especially if the domain is registered through a 3rd party), I'd like to be able to request an SSL certificate directly for a certain domain on the Hypernode instance.
7 votesThis feature has been released a couple of months ago! You can now upload your custom SSL certificate on your Hypernode.
If you’d still like Byte to take care of all the SSL-hassle, you can fill in a form and we will take the tedious steps for you (ordering a Presence plan, adding it to your Hypernode).

Block requests based on country
We would like to rewrite based on the country of the user.

SLA Plus (24/7 emergencysupport) on Hypernode
Of course Hypernode has an incident response team on call 24/7. But in case your downtime is not caused by our platform, but by a malfunctioning in your shop, Byte has a special service: SLA Plus. We could add this service as an add-on to Hypernode: https://www.byte.nl/kennisbank/item/SLA_Plus. Vote if you're interested!

Higher timeouts in the Magento backend
Magento may require higher timeouts in the backend then it does in the frontend. Such as for imports/exports, generating reports, etc.
The timeout in the backend should be raised, while the timeout in the frontend should be lowered since it's not necessary to set a timeout this high.
My idea: raise the timeout for the backend to 3600s and change the timeout in the frontend to a normal 30s.
3 votesThis can be done using .user.ini for php settings and http and or server includes in /data/web/nginx for nginx.

1-click install Magento on Hypernode
That there will be a possibility within the byte panel for a 1-click install Magento, so that in the future you no longer have to do it with SSH!
3 votesEvery new Hypernode is now booted with a Magento install. http://support.hypernode.com/changelog/release-1720-automatically-install-magento-added-composer-and-other-updates/

Add sass / compass support
Sass / compass is a css pre-compiler which is used in the default Magento 1.9 responsive theme. Supporting this in Hypernode is a 'no-brainer' IMO .

OTAP ondersteuning
69 votesHi! We currently have a Vagrant image for local development (http://support.hypernode.com/changelog/release-771-vagrant-image/) and a local staging environment. (http://support.hypernode.com/changelog/release-1003-enable-local-staging-environment-beta/). We’ll keep improving those, so please keep your feedback coming. If you have OTAP-wishes that are not covered by those developments yet, please enter a new Idea, so others can support it and we can track its popularity.

DNS settings on Hypernode control panel
The control panel for hypernode is limited. If a client switches to hypernode entirely, there's still the need for a separate account to manage a number of standard Byte services. For us, this means the client has to grant the technical role again and switch between accounts that manage the same entity.
A number of these things are one-shot services (once setup is done, next to no maintenance is done on these), but DNS is quite fluent and it would be very nice to have at least that service integrated into the Hypernode control panel.
1 voteYou can now link all domains hosted at Byte to your hypernode. When the node up or downgrades we automagically adjust the DNS for your linked domains.

libsnappy & php-snappy
Plz install libsnappy and the php extension to use snappy compression.
In our tests snappy is faster and consumes less resources than gzip.
Also the Magento CM_Redis* modules are compatible with snappy as a dropin replacement for gzip.
1 voteHi,
We’ve added php-snappy: https://support.hypernode.com/changelog/release-4224/

Have the ability to allow php scripts in /skin/
In
magweb.conf
, I see a rule for denying access to php scripts in/skin
,/media
and/js
(together with a rule for serving a 'plain' 404 from that directories). This differs from default Magento, which only denies executing php scripts from/media
(in/media/.htaccess
; only the rule for the plain 404s is in/.htaccess
).Now I wonder if this behaviour was intentionally changed, or it's a result of wrong assumptions. I have a site where I have a php script in
/skin/frontend/.../
that generates small SVG files on-the-fly to be served to the client.Of course,…

Graphical presentation of Redis cache memory usage
I would like to see graphical presentation of Redis cache memory usage in the Magento monitor for Hypernode.

Ability to exclude ip's from the bot filter
Sometimes there are ip's that may look like bots, but are actually crucial for the functioning of the website, like psp notification processes etc. We would like to exclude certain ip's from ever being blocked due to the bots filter.
1 voteThis functionality is easily created by adding some nginx configuration to the bot blocking snippets. Please contact support if you need some assistance or idea’s how to archieve this.

to have the optipng command available for automatic optimization of PNG's
Currently I optimize the images in our store using a cronjob executing the jpegoptim command. This does, however, only work for JPEG images.
The equivalent command for png images, optipng, is currently not installed on the Hypernodes.
