Which Hypernode features would you like to see?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  1. Horizontal autoscaling compatibility with Fastly (or other CDN's)

    Ideally trough comprehensive documentation to use the CDN for load balancing, or a cacheless Varnish implementation, since Magento 2 only supports 1 cacheing application simultaniously

  5. Move MailHog to MailPit

    Since MailHog is not being updated any more, maybe it an idea to look into MailPit.
    The project was inspired by MailHog and works the same but with more features such as spam check.

  7. Add existing Hypernodes to existing Teams of which I'm an admin

    Make it possible to add existing Hypernodes of which I am admin to an existing team. Right now I only see Hypernodes of which I am an owner, so the Teams structure is now all over the place and I can't make sense of it.

    At the moment MySQL 8.0 is only supported in the 8.x versionrange. To match the Magento 2.4.8 requirements, please add MySQL 8.4 support.

  11. Give hypernode-managed-vhosts --type a option for a webroot'less type

    I would like to have a type that does not have a webroot in the managed vhosts, so I can add a custom proxy that can be used to connect to a podman container.

    For a client where we run a podman container we would like to have a option to give this pod its own subdomain.
    To route this through the server we need a seperate entry in the managed vhosts list.
    Only for this we do not require a webroot.
    And as far as I can see we only have types that contain a webroot.

  14. Add some more base packages for troubleshooting

    Please add support for the following packages for more in depth troubleshooting.

    • iftop
    • nload
    • iotop

    If someone has more packages they use for troubleshooting that are not part of the standard install please add a comment.

  15. Add support for Restic and Rclone on all Servers

    To create external backups that one can manage themself please install the following packages in the base;

    restic
    rclone

    With restic we create fast backups to our own repository so we always have a copy of the important data within reach so we don't have to wait long times for a restore from Hypernode.

    Also with Rclone it will be possible to backup things to more online services.

  16. Add an option to manage IP's for a custom allowlist via portal

    Add an option to manage IP's (which are used for the staging environment or the back-end firewall) at the Hypernode portal so our customers could add their own IP addresses.

  17. Allow team management via API

    I would like the ability to assign or remove users from Hypernode teams via API.
    As an agency we have moved to using individual user accounts for every employee. The Hypernode admin currently does not allow assigning one user to multiple Hypernode teams at once, so this takes a lot of manual work to maintain.

  18. MariaDB support

    MariaDB is a faster alternative to MySQL, especially since query caching was removed in MySQL 8

    For example, MySQL lacks the following features for optimizing performance:
    - optimizerswitch: "rowidfilter=off"
    - optimizerusecondition_selectivity: 1

    So it would make a lot of sense to migrate from MySQL to MariaDB for high-load projects and be up-to-date after MySQL 5.7 was deprecated

  19. Option to create new server instances by API

    We would like to see the option to create new server instances through the API. In this way, we can create a new Magento instance and deploy it to a new server right away, without the need to contact Hypernode.

  20. Add Proxysql for MySQL8 performance optimization

    Query Caching has been disabled in MySQL 8+
    See https://dev.mysql.com/blog-archive/mysql-8-0-retiring-support-for-the-query-cache/

    And it has negative effect on some of the customers with high DB load
    According to the link above, it can be solved by Proxysql

    Please add Proxysql to the list of the standard services
